OOAK Needle Felted Wool Sculpture
"A Special Moment With Mom", 7.5" high, is a whimsical
solid needle felted wool sculpture,
miniature polar bear Mom and cub.
The mother polar bear is sitting on her favorite pile of rocks,
sharing a special moment with her loving little cub.
Her arm is extended as she prepares to embrace her little one
with a gentle miniature polar bear hug.
The cub is holding tight to Mom's paw
as she looks up with adoration at her mom.
The needle felting process starts with small wisps of wool.
A special barbed needle is used to stab and compress the wisps of wool.
The sculpture shape starts to emerge as more wisps of wool are added,
then compressed, creating the desired shape of the sculpture.
Needle felting is truly an artistic expression,
emerging from a small wisp of wool to a completed artistic creation.
The Polar Bears are created from natural Cotswold wool roving.
The rock pile and rock base are made from multiple needle felted rocks,
in shades of gray, charcoal, and antique white.
This is a OOAK (One Of A Kind) wool sculpture,
and is signed by me, the artist, on the back of the piece.
